I saw Santa Clarita burning on the news too which is where I grew up.
Friday evening we did a group activity down at Old Mans (San O) and went long. Saturday morning, HB 13th street, busted out the funboard.

Sweet. I hardly ever surfed OC. I was closer to Ventura/Santa Barbara so always went there instead. I miss surfing. Thank goodness the winter is almost here and I can go boarding again.

I grew up in T.O., so closer to your next of the woods. Malibu, Zuma, Silver Strands, Channel Islands, etc...were the popular beaches for the surf, sponge, and skim folks.

I dont dig snowboarding. Dont know why because I love board sports. looks fun, tried it, but enjoy skiing more. Utah is king for snow sports.

Yeah I'd hit up Zuma quite a bit. Mostly to chill, never surfed there. We'd surf county line, c-street, emma wood, and rincon. Oil Piers was my favorite place back in the day. Now it's gone.

The only thing that gives this quote a shred of credibility is that Laird windsurfed.

Fortunately, Laird also gave up windsurfing to go back to tow-in, big wave, so so much for that experiment.

I dont recall seeing much windsurfing in Endless Summer or Riding Giants....I have seen windsurfing pics on brochures for Sandals, Jamaica and Disney cruises.

Windsurfing is about continual action and speed. In contrast, surfing is more about contemplation and floating around.

Got it. You are right, windsurfing is cool!

What color is the sail on your board? It would be cool to get a sail with fun colors or patterns.

County Line and C Street....definitely Ventura haunts. My grandmother and aunt live right off Seaward Ave exit, so not too far.

Zuma 6 was the TOHS beach of choice when "forgetting" to go to class....
