But it would sure be great to be able to take my girls camping and have them sit around the fire and listen to a testimony from the Bishop and a member of the Stake Presidency. Don't see how that wouldn't benefit their progression.
Don't they do that at Young Women's Camp?

Maybe you could go for the testimony meeting if you asked.

I know that they ask for a couple Melchizedek Priesthood holders to go to camp along with a member of the Bishopric every year in my ward.

Something else that cracks me up....

We have 5 active YW in our ward. My daughter at 14 is the 2nd oldest. We have no Laurels.

Our Stake does Girls camp together. The Monday after school gets out. The same day summer school starts. So out of 5 girls we only have 1 going because the rest are going to summer school.

Our Stake also does scout camp together. Scout camp is held the week AFTER summer school ends. So I will have 7 out of 10 kids attending scout camp. If they did it during summer school I would only have 2.

I asked the Stake YM President about it and he stated that it is only reasonable to have it after summer school so more boys could benefit from it.

I also asked the Stake YW President the same question. She told me that my daughter was choosing to miss out on the Girls camp experience because she is choosing to go to summer school. Kind of. In her High Shool if you want to participate in drumline you have to take your health/keyboarding class in the summer.

Same church, 2 different organizations, polar opposite in their thought process. I agree with the YM president on this one.

Lingo, why all of the negative energy? Don't you get tired of it after a while? Serious question.

You made your point months ago. Your stamina on this board is amazing.

Good question.

I think a lot of the reason I stick around is because I perceive this board to be a big "whine about the church and brag about how smart we are" community.

The "liberal mormon" mentality bugs me a lot.

Interesting... I wasn't aware that I'm out here to make one big point, but what do you perceive that to be?

What is the mentality that bugs you? We may have a breakthrough here...

Yeah homeboy, I'm going to have to agree with Johnny on this one. If he has ever had a point, I don't know what it was.

Wow. That's fascinating.

Well, I think you answered your own question in the first part of your response. You consider us to be degenerate liberal mormon whiners and therefore feel it is your God-given duty to bring us to repentance by expressing your contempt for us and pretty much being an asshole 24/7.

Seems to be working really well, Lingo. Keep it up, buddy.
