Default I just returned from a firm retreat

Where we received a course in sexual harrassment (how to avoid it, not commit it, in case you wrere wondering). Anyhoo, the supposed experts described a list of things one shouldn't do becasue they could be consdered harassing. Included on this list was exposing your genitals, pulling down somone else's shorts, and squeezing someone else's genitals. I looked around the room and wondered who among my fellow firm members might not have been aware, prior to this seminar, that these were potentially offesive actions. Everyone else looked very sincere and serious, as thought they had jusyt been given information which might justify the fee these clowns charged. Amazing.

Default What you don't expose yourself to every

cute female employee, you don't grapple her to make certain everything is in proper order?

Geeze, you're so behind the times. That's how all the rappers get their dates.

Get with it, man.

Things like that lead to movies like Office Space and shows like "The Office." Last summer I had to watch some 80s video about safely handling hazardous materials, climbing ladders and not eating paint chips. Of course, I was working in marketing and the others were actuaries, so the likelihood of those scenarios was minuscule.

Speaking of "The Office," though, Men's Journal talked with one of the writers this month and he said the motivation for the inter-office basketball game was a law firm he knew of that had an annual softball game designed to motivate and build strong relationships. Of course, they split the teams among attorneys and non-attorneys and the attorneys always got too into it and showed up with uniforms for the attorneys and the opposition, termed "Essential Personnel" and "Non-Essential Personnel."
