Default Saddest song...

I'm not sure why I feel the need to bring the mood of the board down, but I was listening to some Peter Gabriel and heard "Don't Give Up" and it occurred to me that this may very well be the saddest song I know of. It's doesn't bring tears to my eyes, but the lyrics really aren't any to boost anyone's spirits, despite Kate Bush's part is trying to make the guy feel better.

Anyone have a suggestion? (And no, Rise and Shout doesn't count.)

Although it is not a song I find it very sad when people say they can honestly tell the difference between Journey/Foreigner.

Default I can tell the difference between the two...

Steve Perry from Journey has a higher voice.

You may as well throw in Chicago and Air Supply into the mix for me.

So IPU, does that song make you feel like a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world? Like you got on a midnight train just going anywhere? All I can say is don't stop believin'....

The song I was referring to just plains makes me feel like giving up, despite having friends.

Does anyone else get mobile music embarrassment? For instance, there are times when I might feel like blasting Journey on my car's CD player, but I am afraid that someone driving nearby might hear that I'm blasting Journey. So, I tend to blast White Stripes or Foo Fighters, or even Pink Floyd, lately, instead.

But how can I scratch my Air Supply itch?

This quandry was addressed perfectly in the cinematic wonder known as Tommy Boy. That Carpenters song comes on and at first they both make fun of it, then one asks to turn it up and next thing you know they're singing at the top of their lungs.

It's happened to me a million times in traffic. In fact, it happened yesterday on the way home from work. John Cougar's "Little Pink Houses" came on and I had to roll up the windows at every stoplight, but I just couldn't change the station.

Isn't John Cougar Mellencamp dead?

I have found out from a good source in Indiana that this is not a wise joke to make around people of the Hoosier State, but I for one enjoy it.
