17th ranked North Carolina loses to Maryland. The other ranked ACC team, Florida State, loses at home to Boston College. But don't worry, the pollsters will likely vault either Miami (FL) or Maryland into the top 25 (or at least very close). If the MWC was producing this kind of results, no one would be ranked. In fact, Air Force looks just as impressive as the Terps or the Hurricanes, but will be nowhere near the top 25.

All three teams have 3 losses.
The Hurricanes have lost at #5 Florida, as well as two home losses to North Carolina and Florida State. Their most impressive non-conference victory is at Texas A&M (4-7).

The Terps did beat a decent Cal team, but lost to Middle Tennessee State (a 4-6 team out of the Sun Belt Conference). They also lost to Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Air Force's losses have come to Utah, BYU, and Navy (6-4). They don't have much in the way of impressive wins - they did win at Houston, who is 6-4 and currently tied for first in the Conference USA West.
