Default Garmin Forerunner 305

I received this piece of training technology for Christmas today. Anyone have any experience? Without having used it yet, It seems fairly easy to use and I think I will enjoy it.

I have the 205 that I've been using for about 2 years, I guess. It's a very reliable unit. Be sure to sign up for an account at motionbased.com, and you can plot your runs on Google maps. It's kind of fun. I would have gone with the 305, but didn't need the heart monitor. I think you'll like it.

I have the 205 and I love it. I was in the same situation as Runner and I also decided against getting the 305 because I didn't think I would use the heart monitor enough. Motionbased is good and if you google the 205 and tracking your programs, there are several other sites that will keep track of what you are doing.

I think you will enjoy it quite a bit.

By the way, on a practical note, when you first fire it up before each run, get out in the open as much as you can, and stand still until it finds the signal. I used to stand on my front porch and wait for it to find the signal, and it would sometimes take 3-4 minutes. Then I started standing at the end of my driveway, and it finds the signal within about 45 seconds now, sometimes even faster.

I received a Garmin Nuvi for Christmas. Kind of a surprise, since I didn't ask for it and not sure if I really need it. That being said, it is a fun toy.

Anyone else have a Nuvi? Thoughts or critiques?

I signed up for Motion Based but do either of you have the pay account or just the free? Is the pay account worth it?

I have the free account. Mess around with the free one for a few weeks before you sign up for the upgraded account.
