The fine line between denouncing the brutality of the regime while not denouncing the regime which would just legitimize the regime and be entirely counterproductive.

Something tells me this is a pointless discussion.

Yeah, you're right. Reagan calling the former Soviet Union the evil empire only started the end of the cold war. Nothing could come from having the guts to say the same about Iran.

You know what we need? A tough-talking Texan for president. Someone who can use old-west lingo, can bob his head when he is blustering, and get us into messes where thousands of our boys and young women die. If only we could have a president like that.

No, we need another President who has the guts to call evil what it is - evil. And then remind the evil entity that if it wants to try something, it will get it's ass handed to it. We don't need to invade to put the bad guys in their place.

Yeah, let's pull a Reagan. Let's invade a Grenada, or drop some bombs on Libya. That tough guy.

"Mr. Ayatollah, TEAR DOWN THIS......." hmmm, what exactly is it that needs to be torn down?

I liked it when Reagan got really hard-core against Chinese human rights abuses, and instituted economic sanctions, and dropped bombs on China. Did that happen? Or was that second-hand peyote?

We could drop a few bombs on Iran. Then watch a few thousand missiles rain down on Israel. As much as I think Israel is an immoral state, I don't think we should allow/cause that to happen.

America has gotten weak. We don't commit genocide nearly as often as we used to.

The Cold War was not won with pacifism.

Grenada was justified because US citizens were in danger.

I'm not sure the Cold War was won.
