I do too. I especially like the four gospels. In the Book of Mormon I especially like Christs visit.

I love the Bible, but if it were all I had, I could not be a Christian. It is so flawed.

These mormon guys talk about this quite a bit in their fireside and their materials.

http://www.blacksinthescriptures.com/

I am not advocating buying their stuff, but if you want a black Mormon's interpretation on this specific issue i thought you might be interested.

An aside I do know Marvin Perkins personally. The selling of these materials is not his primary source of income. He works in sales for a Pharmacuetical company I believe.

I'm not arrogant enough to pretend I know what God will or will not do and why or why not. Thus, it's entirely possible to me. I have no concrete reason to disbelieve that little tidbit and yet at the same time believe the rest of the Book of Mormon.

Is it appropriate to link the Lamanite skin cursing (explicit) to that of the Africans (tenuously implicit)?

Liking it more because you think it's better or more interesting literature is a different topic. Surely you don't believe in the miracles in it.

I don't know. They address cursings in both the bible and the Book of Mormon. I think they contend that the skin cursing in general (both the Bible and Book of Mormon) is not as explicit as you indicate. I have not seen their fireside nor have I purchased their materials but they do take their audience in a journey through the footnotes of these scriptures.

Your issues with the Church is it most redeeming characteristic, well that is right behind its obvious truthfullness of course.
