This isn't the first time the idea of attacking Iran having some appeal to certain elements within the administration has been mentioned in the media. Are you saying there is no reason to think Cheney or some others in the administration would like to do it? I don't know the answer one way or the other, but I don't find it that far out there to think Cheney might want war with Iran. There's even been posts on here from a few folks saying we should attack them and N. Korea while we're at it.

Its frightening to me that the man can be so stupidly stubborn. Once again he raises the spectre of nukes and contends that the regime will be easily toppled and that we will be welcomed as liberators.

Also Cheney contends that it must happen by direction of Bush, since no one who follows Bush into the White House will have the guts to do it.

What does that mean? Are they conceding that a Democrat will win the election or are they saying (gasp!) that no Republican would attack Iran either. In other words, no leader from either party would do this except Bush at Cheneys prodding.

If Cheney decides to attack Iran, I hope for his sake that he brings at least a couple of his buddies with him.
