Anyone catch the Bob Woodruff special tonight?
What an amazing recovery he's made. I've been working with patients with TBI for almost 10 years and I'm not sure I've ever seen somebody look and sound as well as he does after an injury that severe.
He did a good job of bringing the issue of the number of serious injuries, especially TBI, among our soldiers to light. We only hear about deaths, but the number of soldiers seriously injured is quite high. |

As I watched, I found myself feeling more sorry for the wives of the wounded men. Most are in their early twenties and have a lifetime of caring for their husbands ahead of them. I'm a little embarrassed that I feel more sympathy toward the healthy wives.
