things to do in Boston
I'll be in Boston a few days. Starting tomorrow night. Scientific conference.
Any suggestions on things to do or see? I've been a couple times in the past, but never had much time for sight-seeing. I'll be taking my camera and doing a little street photography. |

I'm sure Mitt would want nothing to do with me. The infamy of Mike Waters lives long and far.

Great city.
Harvard Square is a nice place to visit. Good food out that way, though it is a bit of a hike from the airport. I love the freedom trail. Don't pass up the graveyards. It sounds a bit weird to go look at the tombstones, but you will be amazed at the names you find. Stop in at Faneuil Hall for good eats and a fun atmosphere. Catch a Celtics game (too bad the Sox aren't playing now!). If you like seafood, Legal Seafood is awesome (delicious clam chowder) but a bit pricey ($25-40 a person or so). The baked lobster is incredible. JFK Presidential library is nice, but far from downtown too. Walking along the new Parkway where the freeway used to be is also neat. Lots of exciting projects underway there. Don't drive in Big Dig tunnels! |

Boston is a great city.
Do a Duck Tour, I know it sounds cheesey but it's a great way to see the historic sites fast. Spend some time in the Boston Commons. Harvard is okay, but it's bookstore is cool. MIT is more fun and Boston College has better looking babes.

Agree with all on the freedom trail. For people watching and street photography hit Harvard Square and the Boston Commons. The North End (where the Freedom Trail ends up) is Boston's little Italy and would be great for photos. Honestly, you can't go wrong with the freedom trail.

Try to sneak into Fenway and bask in it's ambiance.
The Freedom Trail rocks. Go to Danny Ainge's house and demand that he tell you why his nephew shunned BYU. Stop in at Cheers and see if everybody knows your name. Visit the campus of the BYU of the East. (Trying hard not to laugh right now. And not the good kind of laugh - the great and spacious building kind of laugh.) Take a photo of the bridge at Chappaquiddick.
