That's a pretty stupid argument. I'm not saying I agree with the whiners, but citing some unrelated and uninvolved team as an excuse for any behavior seems silly.

C'mon MP, not watching the game, but it all sounds pretty classless. Ute Fans scream to high heaven at the very hint of BYU RUTS and have set the tone on this issue. Y'all should expect a little of the same coming back.

Even if that's true (I don't remember Lavell's actions specifically), how does that justify anything in this case?

I think there's a good argument in that their coach guaranteed a win, etc., but "it's ok if we ruts against Wyoming because I seem to remember some other coach doing something similar 10 years ago" sounds like desperation.

Mp your argument has no merit here. Running up the score by keeping your starters in and running your offense is a hell of a lot different than the following:

Up 26-0 fake punt.

Up 33-0 flea flicker

Up 33-0 throwing it deep every play late in the 3rd quarter

Up 43-0 Onside kick

Up 43-0 throwing it deep

Up 43-0 going for it on 4th down

Funk you are usually one of the rational Utefans you are an idiot if you think Lavell ever did anything this bad. Seriously Kyle is making himself look like a jack ass, a very good friend of mine who is a Ute fan and at the game texted me and said that he was pissed about it.

Also Whittingham deserved the middle finger that Joe Glenn sent his way. Karma is a bitch and Kyle is messing with it right now.

Sure, during the Lavell era BYU often threw when up big, but I don't ever recall an onsides kick. Seems like a new low.

Utah has made it their pillar standard of class. Nobody else forced Utah to make RUTS such an issue that it is to Utah. Few other fanbases give a shit but to Utah it is a holy unwritten law. BYU fans are holding Utah up to the U standard. BYU fans have no issues with RUTS. It is a U issue. Is there wrong with holding a fanbase or institution responsible for the standards it claims to uphold even if it is the only fanbase in existence who holds such a principle so dear?

For the record I don't care what Kyle does. The onside kick sounds a bit much to me, but RUTS is something for pussies to moan about when there is nothing they can do to stop it. It still makes me laugh how deeply permeated it got into the Ute consciousness.

Is the onside kick equal to the Doug Scovil reinserting Marc Wilson to set some meaningless record?

I guess one can take the zoob out of Provo, but you can't take the zoob out of the zoob...or something like that.
