TCU played well last night. I really enjoyed the game. It was fun to play a decent team for a change. I was particularly impressed with TCU's speed on defense and how well they executed open-field tackles. This is a well-coached ball club.

Also, MW and Arch, you seem to be more upset that we didn't dominate versus almost lost.
TCU is a good team (37-0 over NM last week). Bronco tried managing th game by going conservative to preserve the win, then cranked it up when it got closer than he would have liked. Win secured. There are reasons we didn't dominate.

The BYU team should have dominated that game, but due to lax play at key moments failed to do so and barely escaped losing the game. If we continue to demonstrate that tendency we could lose to our dreaded rivals.

TCU is ranked 84th in Total Offense prior to this game, and 78th in scoring offense.
We held them to very close to their season averages in both categories. Not a good offense. |

If I had turned the corner of 12th and Vine just a little earlier in 1992, I might have been married to Heather Locklear too.

Given my current ranking on the Cougarboard prediction contest, you guys should be looking to me for realistic goals.

Seems to me like it's about expectations...
I expect BYU to dominate a mediocre MWC team at home and the game should be over by the third quarter. As has been mentioned, not only did that not happen, but BYU gave up 370 yards to a bad TCU offense and TCU had a chance to win at the end - a chance that a decent to good team may have capitalized on. Others expect and are perfectly happy with a win. I'm not sure either side is wrong. |
