Democratic Number Crunching:
Some stats I just conjured up, with seven states not yet having had their primary. Basically, I'm looking at the states which each candidate won, based on how they voted during the past two presidential elections, and then looked at the cumulative number of votes in the electoral college which each state represents.
States won that voted Democrat in 2000 and 2004 presidential elections: Clinton: 7 Obama: 10 Count of Electoral College votes from states won in primary that voted Democrat in 2000 and 2004 presidential elections: Clinton: 156 Obama: 83 States that voted Democrat in 2000, but Republican in 2004 presidential elections: Clinton: 1 Obama: 1 Count of Electoral College votes: Clinton: 5 Obama: 7 States that voted Democrat in 2004, but Republican in 2000 presidential elections: Clinton: 1 Obama: 0 Count of Electoral College votes: Clinton: 4 Obama: 0 States that voted Republican in 2000 and 2004 presidential elections: Clinton: 8 Obama: 15 Count of Electoral College votes: Clinton: 120 Obama: 110 Total number of states won in Primaries: Clinton: 17 Obama: 27 Electoral College votes: Clinton: 285 Obama: 202

From this, two numbers jump out at me:
1. Obama has many more states that are staunchly Republican and voted Republican during the past two elections, but this doesn't represent much of a difference in terms of number of electoral college votes. 2. Clinton has much more of the democratic base behind her than Obama in terms of Electoral College votes. This says to me that Clinton is less vulnerable to losing key democratic states, but less likely to pull away states from the Republican candidate.
