YES. in shia we have a law that it allows you to watch the woman body if you are almost sure about getting marry to her and you have a serious concern for what her body would look like.
worthy adding thing is...the girl would be showing her body and her charm in different meetings to the females memeber of the guy family though.so they are free to be critical if they find something undesirable and report directly to the guy .so he could investigate the case himself through a request if necessary .ofcourse it does need to get the girl permission and wish!

Interesting.

I would say most Americans go beyond inspection of fruit, and actually partake before marriage.

Mormons, we try to neither inspect nor partake. But generally with swimsuits and such, we generally have a pretty good idea anyway.
