Now here's an amusing thing. Waters marches in protest outside a prison demanding a rapist get released, and when he does and rapes again, Waters is the first one demanding the police chief be fired. Can he be any more disingenuous?

Here's the link to this little travesty, which will inevitably occur even more if Obama actually follows through with his Gitmo rhetoric.

I condemn Bush for letting the guy go. Happy?

And yet you and your new king want Gitmo closed, which will most likely result in more guys like this being let go. Great move!

Waters and proponents of civil liberties favor fair process, because in promoting a fair process, we the people are fair and legitimate in how we govern. Results oriented government often loses track that the journey and the process is just as important as the end station or results.

Jed Babbin reports (yes, he's a conservative ... believe him at your own risk):

Quote:
White House lawyers are refusing to accept the findings of an inter-agency committee that the Uighur Chinese Muslims held at Guantanamo Bay are too dangerous to release inside the U.S., according to Pentagon sources familiar with the action.

...

After Obama’s promise to close Gitmo, the White House ordered an inter-agency review of the status of all the detainees, apparently believing that many of those held would be quickly determined releasable. The committee -- comprised of all the national security agencies -- was tasked to start with what the Obama administration believed to be the easiest case: that of the seventeen Uighurs, Chinese Muslims who were captured at an al-Queda training camp.

...

Reviewing the Uighurs detention, the inter-agency panel found that they weren’t the ignorant, innocent goatherds the White House believed them to be. The committee determined they were too dangerous to release because they were members of the ETIM terrorist group, the “East Turkistan Islamic Movement,” and because their presence at the al-Queda training camp was no accident.

According to Defense Department sources, the White House legal office has told the inter-agency review group to re-do their findings to come up with the opposite answer.
Hey, if the ETIM Uighurs get released in ute4ever's neighborhood, he could have them over for a BBQ and apologize to them for being forced repeated listenings of Lose Yourself.

We'll see if this hits the mainstream media at all.

If you waterboarded me 100 times and kept me in solitary for 7 years, hell yeah, I'm going to be dangerous to you if you let me out.

Am I the only one that saw the NatGEO special on Gitmo? They allowed camera crews into Gitmo. It was eye-opening. It's a national tragedy.

The report found that they were dangerous before they were put in Gitmo ... that was the reason they were sent there in the first place. Also, there is no evidence that any of these particular inmates were waterboarded.

What's interesting if this story proves to be true, is that this was considered low-hanging fruit by the Obama administration. No wonder they sent it back for a re-do.

Hey- still haven't seen a single post from you about the news that the CIA waterboarded KSM 183 times in 30 days. How do you feel about that?

2,974 people died on 9/11 (not counting the hijackers). KSM has 2,791 more turns at the waterboard.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

J.G. Ballard dead.

Quote:
Ballard focused heavily in his work on what he saw as the negative effect on mankind of advancing technology and rejected the belief that humans can constantly improve themselves.

Ballard often portrayed social and technological developments as adding to a sense of human worthlessness, rather than aiding the progression of mankind.

"The Enlightenment view of mankind is a complete myth. It leads us into thinking we're sane and rational creatures most of the time, and we're not," Ballard said in a 2003 interview with Australian newspaper The Age.

Because of the lack of video and photos, and the fact that Obama is owned by the oligarch and multinationals and and other powers, no one will be held to account for lowering the USA to a 3rd-world petty dictatorship.
