So fine, clear it up for me: do you agree that post-2002 Gitmo policy was created primarily to give Bush cover for expanding executive power? Specifically, to unlawfully detain US citizens?

Got it.

Looks like the Seinfeld sidler has arrived.

Now imagine that extended executive privilege in Obama's hands ... think about what he would do if this financial crisis continues?

He would probably mandate population control for whites. Kills two birds with one stone: It gives blacks better odds of achieving long-term power over whites, and it also conveniently reduces competition for scarce resources.

Oh now be serious Babs ... Pandora's box has been opened and an Obama administration isn't going to close it; they will use it to their advantage to expand their version of socialism.

I can't respond seriously to this kind of inflammatory, hyperbolic rhetoric anymore. I've been listening to it for almost two years now.

Honestly, I'm not trying to be obtuse but this is a significant issue that is being ignored by the media and your response sounds as if you've put your head in the sand.

Why is this question not be asked by those who support him. I freely admit it's the single biggest concern I have about McCain who, traditionally, I would vote for. I'm not afraid to admit that this issue alone frightens me most and force me to abstain or vote for someone else.

I'm lost. You're suggesting we shouldn't vote for anyone because whomever we put into office might abuse the newly expanded executive power?

Frankly, I'm a fan of the stronger executive, even if it's in the hands of a nitwit like Obama (all the more reason we should not elect nitwits like Obama).

When it comes to wartime authority, a strong executive is good for the country.

I disagree and believe the executive power should be neutered, whether it be McCain or Obama. The continual expansion of executive powers is ripe for abuse.
