Default Eagle Board of review letter

One of the young men asked me to write a letter of rec for his eagle board of review. He is a great young man and I am writing a very glowing letter. However, I really don't know much about scouting. Is there specifics elements or things I should make sure I talk about besides that he is

kind,
courteous,
a leader,
respectful,
smart,
etc

P.S.

Yes MW you know the parents.

And I did that right off the top of my head.

As for writing a letter of recommendation, I have no idear. I've never been asked to do it.

Yes, I think I will write the letter as a kind of "acrostic" where each sentence begins with a letter. So 'l' and then 'o' and so on ...

BE careful. Scouters, especially middle aged ones wearing offical green shorts, shirt and kerchief, do not like to be mocked.

Good idea, but creekster is correct. Some of those guys have the sense of humor of Yosemite Sam.

Ya, but I am a professor at The Ohio State University. We are treated with respect here in Columbus. Ours is a lofty station. I figure the official Ohio Sate Business School letterhead will be enough to wow them and everything else is gravy.

If you want your letter to be a bit more original, ignore the Scout Law and instead evaluate how the candidate exemplies the 4 principles of The OUtdoor Code:

As an American, I will do my best to be:

1. Clean in my Outdoor Manner
2. Careful with Fire
3. Considerate in the Outdoors
4. Conservation Minded

IPU, that was off the top of MY head....snap!

I don't believe you. No one actually memorizes the outdoor code do they? I don't think I even knew it existed until I became a scout leader recently.

Just because I took my Eagle's Nest oaths seriously and you clearly didn't, doesnt mean you have to disbelieve me.

I will admit that I was in scouting only for the future monetary/career benefits that would come with having "Eagle Scout" on my resume.
