Default I might go trout fishing tomorrow or Mon.

any suggestions on fishing for trout in a stocked pond/lake?

The state of Texas stocks certain ponds around the state.

I have no idea about water clarity conditions or anything like that.

My favorite trout lure is a gold "Jake's Spin-A-Lure".

If you have no concern for style, you could always use power bait.

I might pick up one of those lures when I have a chance.

Don't ask me I am a flyfishing trout snob

If you are using spin tackle and prefer active fishing some mepps spinners, super dupers, and the like are what you will want. If you want to cast out and take a nap get some power bait.

Rooster Tails are good trout lures.

I am willing to bet a months salary if you buy a crawfish looking lure you will strike gold down there. Up this way if I fish for trout spincasting in creeks or lakes, I find my best success on live grasshoppers as that is what they feed on bigtime. I would think ponds in Texas are chock full of crawfish and I bet the trout feed on the mudbugs voraciously.

I would think you would have even better luck on live crawdads if you took the time to catch a few.

those trout will be brandnew from the fish farm, doomed to die by either hook, or by warming waters.

Then it really doesn't matter what you use. You will probably catch just as many with a kernal of corn on a hook as you would a sexy lure. The advantage is a lure keeps you doing something while a korn kernal on a hook under a bobber would make you the devil's playhouse.

Made right here in glorious north central God's country. I prefer the silver, but they're both trout killer's no doubt.
