I thought it was more than two, but you may be right. Several came on student visas, I believe, and a few came through Canada.

Ok, I was wrong and was misled by the initial news reports, apparently. It was reported at the time that a couple of them came from Canada, and that is what I was remembering. There was a connection to Portland, Maine, so the speculation at the time was that a couple of them got there from Canada.

An honest mistake on your part. It's not surprising that the media got it wrong.

None came through Canada. That's a myth.

Speaking for the 220 million+ Americans who aren't aware that any Candadian troops are in Afghanistan, let me speak for them--Thank you Canada. Except Quebec. We still hate you Quebec.

Yes, I am serious. I had never heard anything of the sort. Interesting.

As far as I can tell, it seems what happened was the US government investigated the possibility that some of the terrorists entered through Canada and the news reports in those first few days following the attacks on 9/11 took that and ran with it.

Yeah- I did some quick Google searches and saw the same thing. Always facinating how initial news reports, even when later deemed false, can still color public perception. I was under the clear impression that several came through Canada.

I did read, though, that 2 terrorists who were caught had entered through Canada and never boarded the airplanes because of their capture.

I wouldn't have known the answer to whether terrorists came through Canada, had I been asked before this brouhaha. In my experience, anything that descends from above the 49th to below the 49th is bad news.
