I've seen a professional goalie on TV wearning a helmet. Probably a good idea.

Diving into the pole would be bad.

First game tonight...we won 3-0.

I, of course, had little to no impact on the final score. Turns out a couple of Irish guys are on our team, both pretty good. They hogged the ball most of the time. I was actually surprised how fast I got winded, though. Sprinting sucks.

Didn't go well tonight. It all started to go downhill on one play when the ball was heading out of bounds, so I let up a bit, and this guy on my team starts griping at me about not staying with my guy. So I said some things to him that I shouldn't have said. We were getting our butts kicked, and he's whining to the ref the entire time. I was embarrassed by him and for him. I think we lost 8-2, but before the final whistle had even blown, he had gotten dressed and left. Not a good night.
