I haven't seen SNL for many, many years...
I think the last time I saw it was when Eddie Murphy was in the cast.
SNL will never be as good as it was with the original cast. I know that is a rather diffinitive and/or absolute statement, but I stand by it, as it is correct.

I agree the Scarlett Johanson evening sucked. Death Cab for Cutie played some good tunes, but the only skit remotely entertaining was the sixteenth birthday party. "You are the worst parents ever! This party is literally worse than the holocaust! Now give me a thousand dollars and maybe I'll talk to you again!"
