Default Saw "The Island" & "Tristan & Isolde&

I watched "The Island" over the weekend full on expecting it to suck and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

On a double date Fri night I was subjected to "Tristan & Isolde".....and admittedly it was better than I thought it was, but for the most part, guys....avoid it like the plague if you can.

I was disappointed with the Island. It could have been really good and it had too many cliches and dumb stuff thrown into it Thumbs down for me...I don't know if you could pay me to see Tristan and Isolde but I guess we all do dumb things for love, dont we?

I found the Island to be absolutely hilarious. In fact I did a review of this movie on utefans.net during the offseason.

T and I is better than your average fare, at least you do see some death and carnage.

Hey it's a legend, it's not supposed deep and carthatic.

Island not bad, but has some holes in it.

I'm not the movie goer type who constantly complains about what others call "lapses of logic"...especially when it comes to sci-fi flicks, action movies....especially romantic comedies...lol....anyhoo but there was something about Tristan & Isolde that made me laugh and I kept on chuckling throughout the movie.

Tristan is thought dead. They put on a funeral pyre, set it on fire, and float him out to sea. Miraculously he doesn't catch on fire, and his pyre makes it all the way from England to Ireland with nary a scratch on him and when he's found,,,he's clean shaven to boot. I started laughing my butt off, my date didn't think I was funny, which is okay cause I'm not going out with her again anyway.

Go research the legend, and see if you're of the same opinion still.

Care to give me the Cliff Notes version?

Here's a link.

The original legends or version may actually be more interesting, but hey it's Hollywood.

I found it interesting because my young lads liked a love story with carnage.
