I always find the publicity head shots of the two together amusing. Katie has a, "Look everybody, I got me Tom Cruise!" look on her face. Meanwhile Tom's half panicked smile seems to communicate, "What the hell did I get myself in to?"

she looks like the freshman in college who somehow landed the star of the football team - in Tom's case it would be the star of the intramural hoops team that play on 7 ft. hoops - and he realizes that, sure, she's a babe, but the head cheerleader with the best body on campus is avaliable.

Of course, I also tend to believe that shallow is as shallow does. And no place is more populated with superficial denizens than Hollywood.

They'll divorce in three years, she'll end up with a Backstreet Boy and he'll end up with an actress age 50 and say he's never been more fulfilled. Those subsequent marriages will each last four years.
