Default BYU vs. Stanford

End of the game was pretty disappointing, esp. when the bonehead stuff is done by your seniors, Haws and Winder. Almost pissed that game away. Haws shooting a 3 point brick with plenty of time left to burn. And then Winder blowing two layups. Not to mention the complete inability to deal with the press.

Bizarrely, BYU switches Worthington onto Stanford's best guard, man-to-man. It's just plain luck that he missed the shot, a three pointer.

As limited as Nate Austin is, this team is hurting big time without him.

Lots of blame to go around. At least, it is a win, rather than a loss, that can teach them not to muss it up.

No bigs and dumb guards.

Bad combination.

Btw, Haddow suggests that maybe Collinsworth leaves early for the pros. I think that's ridiculous. I don't think there is any way that Collinsworth gets drafted in the NBA. He doesn't have a position he can play. He can't play PG in the NBA, he would get torn up. Can you imagine him going against [insert PG name]?

How many 2s and 3s in the NBA can't shoot?

He is staying for his senior season. Book it.

I wish BYU players well in the pros, but my primary interest is how they do for BYU while they're in college. I really hope we get Collinsworth back for next season because he is a monster of a player at the college level.

Stanford is clearly a legit team given what they've done since that game. That was a good win, especially considering we weren't at full strength with no Austin and Haws not at 100%. The schedule isn't quite as hard as it was last year, but if BYU can avoid the bad losses we had last year, they actually have a shot at not just getting into the tournament, but actually a single digit seed, believe it or not.
