So the Pats are looking pretty good.

I guess the cameras didn't help all that much.

23-0, two interceptions, 1 for TD.

Wow, the TMQ guy sure went off on the Patriots today.

By acting Nixonian, Belichick is accelerating his fall from grace. Today, Belichick and New England are trying to pretend the scandal is over. It would not surprise me in the slightest if, before the season ends, Belichick resigns, or is suspended, or is fired by Kraft, or even is permanently barred from the league. Belichick's head might be necessary to preserve the integrity of the game. Surprisingly soon, sacrificing Belichick to save professional football might seem an attractive option, even to Kraft. Remember, there is no law of nature that says the NFL must remain popular.
Wow, I know some people are riled up about this, but Easterbrook seems to be foaming at the mouth.

Chill, Greg.

This is going to be an even larger downgrade in coaching than Jimmy Johnson / Barry Switzer. Marty was fired out of pride. Norv was a panic replacement. There is no way in hades the Chargers are going to the Super Bowl.

NEW YORK -- The NFL has received and destroyed all materials it requested from the New England Patriots concerning videotaping of opponents' sidelines, and a league spokesman said the team was unlikely to face any further sanctions.

Wow, Easterbrook is on a one-man crusade to take the Pats down single-handedly.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...5&sportCat=nfl

Is he an Indianapolis fan or something?

The First Team on Fox was discussing this on the radio this morning. Some interesting stuff I thought.

It seems like there are two things going on here:

1. The NFL wants this to go away because it has the potential to be a huge black eye to the product that has been created.

2. The Patriots were just the first ones to get caught, and now that the word is out, teams will either stop all together or be a lot more sneaky about how they go about getting this kind of info.

I do think it is interesting that the NFL just took the Patriots word for it that there were no copies made of any of the materials sent to the NFL offices.

Well at least other media outlets are talking about it. I hadn't seen anyone else, so it seemed Easterbrook was the only one.

What would you have done if you were the NFL commissioner after the Pats said there were no copies of the material?
