Default This is why I think the Quest for Perfection slogan was stupid

This isn't intended to be smack. BYU is still a very good team and will likely have a very good season. They will end up with probably 1 or 2 losses and finish tied for 2nd in the conference, at worst.

But people are now wanting to write off the season as not a success because of one loss to a very good team on the road.

I dont think this has anything to do with the The Quest. I think it more has to do with how high the expectations for BYU were going in to this season. Whether they did the Quest slogan or not the reaction would be the same. BYU was expecting to be the BCS buster this year, the team, the local media, the national media and the fans all ran with it and now they are very disappointed. Three years in a row to the Vegas Bowl will do that to you. Especially if Utah or TCU go to the BCS and BYU ends up in the LV bowl again the meltdown will be huge.

If perfection's out of the picture, it's time to talk about redeeming the dead.

Next year we should tone it down a little and do "Quest for Decency" t shirts.

No, this is why college football's whole set up is stupid. Whoever heard of good teams not being able to still win it all getting hot in the post-season. Redemption is the greatest of human dramas, and there's not much room for that in college football. That's a major reason why college basketball is a better game.

I said before the season started the 09' BYU team will be better than the 08' BYU team.

While I agree, it is kind of a lame slogan, I like the fact that they have their goals set that high and that those are the expectations.

I think Quest For Perfection is stupid, too. The reason being I hate slogans in general. I do think it is important to understand that is a QUEST for perfection. I don't think it is arrogant to be on a quest. It is only arrogant if you actually believe you are or will actually be perfect. No harm in trying though.

I think it was a great slogan. To be honest, next year, Bronco should just go for it and anyone who thinks differently, he should just say: Screw you.

Here are my ideas for next years slogan:

1. God won't let us lose
2. First, the National Title...Second, Celestial Kingdom
3. Quest for Even Better Perfection
4. 13-0, suck on that!

Good ideas. I think Kyle should go with:

Back to Back to Back 3rd place finishes!
