Default Gorillaz...Demon Days

Brother in law played this album in the car, didn't like it all. But one particular tune kind of stuck with me.

So when I got home, I got a copy and listened to the album. I wouldn't have expected it to be my sort of thing (my favorite group is currently Wilco), but I've been listening to it for weeks now.

I'm not familiar with either band you mentioned.

What genre of music is it?

the band is called "Gorillaz". The album is "demon days."

I don't know what the genre would be called. It's its own genre. Experimental, guest artists. Even a Dennis Hopper narration of an allegorical story set to music.

I've added it to the books page, at the very bottom.

Experimental? Hmmmm....

The neighbor's cat is in heat and every Tom cat in the neighborhood is howling. Perhaps if I record it, I could use it in the background while my 7 year old reads the newspaper.

Would that be considered experimental?

I found a CD of a band called The Dining Rooms at a garage sale down the street. I bought it because it was a band from Italy and I thought I'd give it a try. It's probably considered experimental as well, as I've never heard amnything that sounds like it - all kinds of different music and odd musical sounds. I actually like it, as it's nothing I've ever heard before.

I liked it too Mike. I bought it a while back and now share it with my son. By share it, I mean that he took it and I won't see it again. The originator of the band is the former lead singer of Blur whose name escapes me right now. What's interesting is that he/they never appear on camera. They are always animated.

By the way, I've just become exposed to Wilco.

Fantastic stuff. I'm not sure of their staying power with me, as it may be kind of a fad. But it very entertaining to listen to.

Have they been around for awhile? I know nothing more than what my friend burned to cd for me.

I like Feel Good, Inc.

Not much a fan of their other songs, though.

Clint Eastwood off of the first cd was an excellent tune. A cool combination of happy lyrics with a strange melancholy tune.

Wilco has been around for a good long time, even had a band of a different name before Wilco.

I bought the Demon Days album on a recommendation from a friend, and only listened for a few minutes before dismissing it completely. Then, a while later, I decided to give it another try. Now it's one of my favorite albums. My favorite song is Kids With Guns. It's pretty catchy.

Beck's latest album Guero is a good one too, if you haven't already checked it out.
