As soon as I get some motivation, I'm going to try and do a faster 5k. I'm slowly coming to the realization that I really hate running fast. I used to want to try and qualify for Boston, but as cool as that sounds, I'm just not willing to do the work. I guess I'll just keep doing my 3:50 marathons, and be content with that.

I'll take last place happily. I ran a new personal worst on Thursday. (Sorry, didn't take ipod to Montana.) A 42:12 straight up Montana Street in Butte. That's a flat first mile, then a climb from about 5400 to 6200 feet. It was sunny and hot and I was just thrilled I didn't die.

This is what I learned:
Uphill is hard.
Downhill is jarring.
Oxygen is best in high concentrations.

Happy to be back in nice, flat Oklahoma.

You did a forty two for a ten k? Impressive, especially under those conditions. Now, if it's the shorter variety, a straight up climb can change your time mightily.

BYUpride I'm going to have to cite you for "complete failure to represent". Still no recorded time.

Take it easy on him, he probably doesn't want to be embarrassed and post a 45 minutes time

When does the "End of Summer 5K" contest end?

I just did my first run in 6 months last night. 2 whopping miles. Look out.

You don't want an ipod. It'll weigh you down.
