Starting a secret organization against the First Presidency? Listen, this guy's problem isn't opposing Proposition 8, but his problems are manifold. Proposition 8 is just a big gigantic red herring.
But don't let that stop MW and fusnik from making him a cause celebre for their own Prop 8 purposes. |

I think there's a difference between fighting the initiative and fighting and/or openly criticizing the church for it's support, a distinction probably lost on the Stage IV crowd.
But excommunication is meaningless anyway, as is baptism. So why does anyone care?

Not examining this case in general as I'm tired of the gay debate, but one comment from this guy rubs me the wrong way.
The comment that the Church is "oppressing" gays. It bothers me because it cheapens past true oppressions and "hilterizes" the discussion. First an organization must possess the power to "oppress". Second what it does must "oppress." The histrionic rhetoric on both sides is making me tune it out. The supporters of Prop 8 making it sound like a choice of life or death and the opponents using irrational descriptions make me think it's time for a trip to the seven seas until the menopausal voters go away.

If I were on the disciplinary council, I'd give the guy a pass on the Prop. 8 issue, but the heave-ho for the goofy '80s era glasses and the whole Haight Ashbury thing. He looks like he's going to play "the Hippie" in his ward's next road show, a sequel to Saturday's Warrior.
Dissent on political matters, fine. But setting back the fashion sense of hundreds of impressionable youth? Sorry, Moon Unit, you're outa here! |

He sent out a letter to Area Authorities, SP's and missionaries trying to recruit oppo to Prop 8. I believe he is posting as Flat Lander.
