And I'm surprised at how thoroughly entertained I was.

I've not read any of the books, but the latest movie was entertaining from beginning to end.

I feel dirty admitting that.

Do not feel dirty. Harry Potter is awesome. Also, the books are WAY better than the movies (usually the case).

Her formula is amazing, but she does have talent.

A couple of books had already been released when I became aware of them; so I picked one up to read to the kids. Suddenly I read the whole thing.

Sheeplessly, I must admit I read them the day they come out and finish that same night. They are a quick read.

I freely admit that I've enjoyed all of the books. Rowling has a very creative mind and the wizarding world that she's created is a fun little escape.

I read along with the kids up through book 5. I thought 1-4 were pretty enjoyable, but I didn't care at all for book 5. Just can't muster the enthusiasm to try book 6. Is it better than 5?

I could only manage to read the first two books. I hated them. I consdider them to be porno for kids (not in a sexual way, of course).

They appeal to every childhood indulgent fantasy, and gratify them all with little wit.

Every kid puts him/herself into Potter's shoes. He is popular without effort. He is powerful without effort. He is loved and special, and wealthy and great, and all of this before he has done anything but show up for his first day of school.

My wife loves them. She says they get better. I'll stick to Winnie the pooh, Lord of the Rings, and Huck Finn. JK pales in comparison... at least I can say that for the first two books.

I have avoided all things Harry Potter and will continue to do so. It just seems like the thing to do. I have avoided it for so long, why not continue to avoid it.

I watched the first half of "goblet of fire" this morning while riding my bike in the garage. While it is entertaining in an escapism sort of way, I was dissappointed with the variations in the screenplay from the book, which I had read in the past year. I think the movie would be watchable and enjoyable as a stand-alone production, but compared to the book, well, there really is no comparison, imo.
