In the past six years Utah has three MWC titles, has won 80 percent of its games, has a 10-3 record against BCS teams, and Utah has won seven bowl games in a row. Utah is 20-1 in its last 21 games, and has won 13 in a row.

Now Utah has a world class coach who wants to stay at Utah, and Utah has raised the funds to pay him a market salary per a long term contract. A fitting capstone! Utah's program and tradition will now really begin to pull away from the rest of the conference. Watch for a surge in recruiting. Early returns already suggest the best Utah recruiting class ever, and they're still beating the bushes and anticipation of 2/4/09.
Nice little dig by Hill at the end of the article. How many recent BYU coaches have been desired by other programs and BYU has had to come up with more money to keep them?

BYU's decision 4 years ago has been confirmed. Whitt was BYU's first choice and rightly so. None of that Management 101 speak. Good member of the church without being a zealot as well as a good coach. Some will point to his OCC, but remember Whit has his QB starter, WR and starting RB go down prior to last year. How would BYU have fared?

I have really noticed his efforts going into the crapper since he went to the new board. It is almost like he needed to have Waters nearby to be effective. Now that his muse is far off, SU is just another bad message board poster. It really is a shame.

Sadly, there's some truth to this.

10-3 record vs BCS teams means nothing without knowing the season records for said teams.
I don't recall Utah playing very many good BCS teams in the last few years.

Utah has conspired to obscure all records that indicate which BCS teams it has played in recent years. The information is just plain not available on the internet, almost like we are living in China, but instead of Falun Gong being absent from the internet pipes, it is Utah's record of BCS teams that has simply....vanished.

Yawn.

BCS teams Utah has played since 2000:

'00 - Arizona, Cal, Washington St.
'01 - Oregon, Indiana
'02 - Indiana, Arizona, Michigan
'03 - A&M, California, Oregon
'04 - A&M, Arizona, North Carolina, (Pitt in Fiesta Bowl)
'05 - Arizona, North Carolina (Georgia Tech in Emerald Bowl)
'06 - UCLA
'07 - Oregon State, UCLA, Louisville
'08 - Michigan, Oregon State (Alabama in Sugar Bowl)

All you need to do is make the effort to look.

Another very nice piece of work, a mockery of the idiot Norcal. I'm convinced the problem is people take you too seriously.

Waters, I'm nearly panicstricken at the prospect that nobody much reads your fine work any longer. What shall we do?
