Default This is why BYU will never be a BCS caliber

team: http://blogs.sltrib.com/byu/

Why do you seem so calm and poised right now?

"You know what, it is just a football game. It is a big football game, but to be honest with you, I am going to go home with my wife and my family and I am going to go home for Thanksgiving. There's bigger things to life than football. But like I said, it hurt. Football is a big part of my life. There are definitely some things I can learn from. You have to put it in perspective."

To BYU administration, football is down the priority list. I'll take a team who hates to lose and compete against that kind of attitude any day.

cut the guy some freaking slack. He knows he had a shitty game. At least he recognizes it and has the whole thing in perspective

For us, it should just be a game, but for him, it should be much more important.

If I lose a case, I'm a wreck and want to jump off a cliff. I don't like it that a coach can take a loss so easily.

Both money games this year, he failed to prepare his team. Whether exie's estimation is valid is uncertain, but his nonchalance about a horrible game seems to lack perspective of his role. I don't want a GA there, I want a football coach, who lives, breathes and dies football.

Hall plays his ass off each game. He just faced a better team.

Six effin turnovers, locking in on receivers. He was horrible.

Or did the Utes make him look horrible?

Mistakes happen and good teams can take advantage but he was making it easy for the Utes.

I would say that he did make some questionable decisions - like trying to force the ball deep on Johnson's interception - and he made a really stupid decision on his first interception to Dale. But Kruger made a helluva play to get that pick, Smith made a great play on that pick (he had slipped and recovered to break on the ball) despite Hall throwing it a bit too late. The last interception was just one of those things. When I saw a highlight of it on TV, it looked like a poor throw that was made worse by the receiver trying to keep it in play by hitting it up into the air rather than let it hit the turf.

So by my count, 1 INT was all on Hall, one was on a receiver trying to make something out of nothing, one was a questionable throw deep and 2 were great defensive plays.

But I may not be completely objective.

Then I don't want to hear about his family and Thanksgiving. He had a lousy game and I put much of the blame on Anae. Run, run, run until they stop the run. We're getting 7 yards per carry and we have to throw the friggin ball?

I remember one year we beat the Utes and had something like 300+ yards rushing. Like DHarmon said on the radio this morning, Anae has this arrogance that he thinks he can throw against anyone and wants to prove it. Quite frankly, I wish he would simply win the game.

Anae and Bronco made him look horrible with their play calling. Or perhaps it's their 1 hour practices. Unbelieveable. When I coached high school we practiced more than that. I would bet that most high caliber programs practice more than 1 hour per day.

Combined with what Bronco has said that he doesn't like game day and he runs home right after practice, is anyone surprised he can't win the BIG game?
