Politicos noted that the Biden pick means Obama will drop the white southerner vote hoping AA turnout will put him over the top in some Southern states, and he will go after the white Midwesterner vote.

Opening the DNC with a prayer is a good start.

When campaigning in the Midwest, Obama will be tempted to turn up the protectionist rhetoric once again, like he did in the primaries (and it will be particularly effective since McCain has near-perfect record on free trade). He must resist this temptation.

He needs to hammer McCain on that real middle-class wages have declined under Bush even as the economy boomed, and that McCain's policies are more of the same.

Obama needs to highlight that his plan is tailor-made to help the middle class move up and prosper.
