He's more than had his chances
as I doubt any other of the receivers would have dropped as many as he did against ND.
He really has played better on the shorter routes than the long ones. He seems to lose concentration this year as opposed to last year.

.....
how can i put this....
people have grown tired of his antics, pre-season and during, and notre dame was the proverbial last straw, especially after lasts weeks practices.... dude is marginal and could have developed into a solid receiver.... refused to work hard in the weight room....refused to be a team guy...and refused to shake his prima donna status..... it is no ones fault but his own that his senior season sucks and wont be a springboard to the next level. |

Is Reed the deep threat now?

If last weeks game was any inidication, I would say yes.
What kind of speed does he have? I haven't paid much attention to him this year. IIRC, his speed is probably above average for a Y wideout, but not quite Watkins or Austin Collie breakaway stuff. |

when a freshman comes and plays significant minutes and gets some significant balls thrown his way in a very important conference game 8 games into the season when your starter and star has been seeing the bulk of the playing time...
you know watkins is having problems. |

He gave up on that ball in the 3rd quarter in the endzone.
Fast guy, good on those third downs... but not a fighter. No doubt. And my little sister has bigger legs than he does.
