Tigh is Adama's right hand man...the now eye patched Col. Tigh (sounds like Tie). He is also the leading Cylon hater, so you can tell why this may be a problem.

Thank you NS...I was an english major and should not make such a silly grammar error. Thanks for the correction and I have no problem with someone pointing out spelling problems to me (besides the fact that I feel like I am an idiot for making obvious spelling errors).
In answer to tooblue...Tigh is the original XO and regained that position after he got off of New Caprica. Helo acted as the XO while Tigh was away. Helo is not a cylon though he is married to Shannon who is a cylon and they had a baby together. Hopefully that made sense. |

Okay, I thought those Cylons resurrected into full-grown bodies coming out of the goop of that birthing caldron. We saw flashbacks of Starbuck’s life as a little girl and the Chief talked of growing up in an ultra religious family. How does that square with the seemingly manufactured nature of their bodies if they are Cylons? Implanted memories? Perhaps, but doesn’t the Colonial Fleet do extensive background checks on its people, especially in the case of officers? Also, with the Chief being a Cylon, don't we now have two half-breed babies? Why does everyone place such value on the half-breed babies? Am I starting to sound like a real geek yet?

Yeah, you are a total geek. To answer a couple of your questions: I don't know about the Chief. Possibly he was adopted and never knew it and therefore lived a typical life in an ultra religious family. If that were the case, he wouldn't need implanted memories because all of his memories were of his human parents and family.
Yes, we now have two hybrid babies now and I think we will see that explored next season in regards to the Chief. Some people don't agree with me on this, but I don't think Starbuck is a cylon...she could possibly be the first hybrid baby (we learned more of her story but we know nothing of her dad, just that her mom was hard on her). It will be interesting to get some answers about all of this. |

Ok, Mr. Battlestar Expert UteStar. Here's my comments/questions posted on another thread. What say ye?
"I don't know if Starbuck is a Cylon or not. I figured she was, but now I'm not sure. Maybe she's the prophesied one to lead the 12 colonies back to earth. Instead of Pres. Roslyn. What I don't get is Tighe. How old is he, in his 50's or 60's? Yet IIRC, the first Cylon War started around 50 years ago, supposedly after he's born. And certainly before the human looking Cylons appeared. There's gotta be some mind blowing explanation here" |

Venkman...I agree, it should be fun to see how they explain this all.
Interesting idea on Starbuck. That is another option that I think makes more sense than that she is simply a cylon. In fact, that may have just replaced my first theory of Starbuck being the first ever cylon/human hybrid. Very interesting. I think both scenarios could play out very well and make for a terrific story. I don't like the 'Starbuck is a cylon' explanation because they have really set it up to be that and it would be a kind of letdown for me and it seems like it would be an easy out for the writers. Nice idea, once again...I can't wait to see how it plays out in January. |
