Dick Morris this morning:

President Obama showed his hand this week when The New York Times wrote that he is considering converting the stock the government owns in our country’s banks from preferred stock, which it now holds, to common stock.

This seemingly insignificant change is momentous. It means that the federal government will control all of the major banks and financial institutions in the nation. It means socialism.

That is what is so alarming about the paranoia coming from the far right. But I guess these folks have been so conditioned by these last 8+ years to think the way they do.

Paranoia here? You don't know paranoia. I received this email forward just the other day:

As some of you may recall during the election campaign Obama said that the Republican party clung to our guns and religion, blah blah blah. Now, his own DHS and FBI have released papers that define just how serious a threat they perceive the "right wing" conservatives to be. They have detailed just how dangerous people that own firearms, stock pile ammo (whether it is because of the shortage that is going on and they want reserves to continue to practice their sport or to fend off the upcoming zombie apocalypse) and do not agree with their politics actually are. They are afraid that anyone who does not agree with their special brand of socialism is going to flock to the white supremacist groups. Why the white groups I don’t quite know except that maybe it's because he is black and they have to play the race card in everything. But it is interesting that they don't say just the whites will make the move, they are very general.

But most importantly, they now view returning vets as an even bigger threat to the security of their version of what they would like the United States to be. First Obama tried telling vets “Thanks for doing your job overseas but since you got hurt you have to use your own insurance to get medical care for your injuries sustained in combat. After all we have all these more deserving welfare recipients and illegal aliens that need the treatment that YOU paid for with YOUR taxes.” That did not work out so well. Then they began to pay attention to what these young men were doing over there. They became extremely efficient at killing people and finding them where they were hiding, in order to kill them. One of the things that returning vets have noticed is the utter distain, contempt and hatred that Obama and his ilk view veterans with. Our troops went overseas because our country decided that we need to remove a dictator from power and free those people.
We became immersed in a war with Islamic fundamentalists that fear freedom and people who are allowed to have hope and make their own decisions. So we fought them too, and did quite well at giving the people of Iraq and Afghanistan freedom to choose their own destiny and exercise basic human rights. Then they came home to the country that Obama is trying his hardest to destroy. Mainly by attacking the rights the veterans fought to give to the Iraqi and Afghani people. Yep, we fought to give freedom to them and come home to find Obama trying to take tit from us. So what exactly makes him different from other dictators, the fact he has yet to use force to seize those rights and wrench them away from the populace? The administration is working hard to make sure that they have the programs, laws, people and methods to do so. And now these same vets have ended up on a DHS and FBI memo listed as possible threats to the security of the United States. Wrong!
They, we, everyone who does not agree with turning the US into the latest and greatest communist country on earth are a threat to the administration and their plans for the destruction of this country. A very real threat indeed. And the fact that the vets will fight for even those they are on opposite ends of the political spectrum from, who may also find themselves on someone’s watch list shows where the real loyalties lie. With the Constitution of the United States of America and the God given rights enumerated therein.

We have hundreds of thousands of men and women that now have experience fighting an insurgent war are walking the streets of the US, bitter about their treatment. Confused about what has happened to this country and how we could have let it get to this point. Angry at the apathy of the citizens of this country who really don’t grasp how precious and delicate freedom is and that it needs to be protected everyday. And you want to demonize them, call THEM a threat to the United States of America? The same country we swore to defend against all enemies foreign and domestic? We are the threat? You bet we are.

I have heard members of society from all walks of life openly discuss participating in a campaign of civil unrest and if need be an outright insurgent war against any administration that would further restrict our rights or try to strip them from us. I have heard members of the military, active, reserves and National Guard openly talk about what they would do if given orders to take up arms against the citizens of the US. I have heard them make plans as to how they would respond, individually as soldiers and as a group of concerned citizens. If this administration thinks for a second that they can count on the members of the military, ESPECIALLY the Guard, Reserves and local law enforcement in the western states, they are very wrong. Groups like Oath Keepers are springing up all over the country and even more active groups are being started covertly that target members of the military in an effort to educate them about the current administration and how
they are destroying everything we signed up to defend. While the DOD is concerned about gangs in the military, the DHS is concerned about people being drawn into white supremacist groups, they are facing an even bigger, silent and deadly threat to their plans to destroy this country. These people swore to fight and die to defend her, and they are planning on doing that very thing. We are not talking about secret meetings and plans of conspiracy or sedition. We are talking about people doing individual soul searching and deciding that they will not take up arms against the people of the United States, their friends and families. They are deciding that they will join the well organized partisan groups that will be formed. And these folks know a thing or two about fighting a guerilla war, making IED’s, sabotage and sniping. They were subject to it, we gave them the power point presentations on how it worked and made them memorize it. Even without
artillery or air power these troops could wage a very painful and expensive insurgent war against this country, or any other on this Earth. The biggest reason the Obama administration wants to take away our right to own firearms is not about crime control, it is because they know that these veterans can train and lead a fighting force that this administration has no chance of defeating. They would have to call on the aid of foreign troops and that is every conspiracy nuts wet dream. That event would drive hundreds of thousands of fence sitters to join the insurgency. So that would rule that idea out.

Now what if a couple of combat engineers joined and took their expertise of explosives and demolitions with them? What if some of the members of the Air Guard took their attack aircraft and decided to use them in support of the insurgency? How do you defend against a self propelled artillery piece that can level your building from 17 to 32 miles away and then hide in a garage? And when a few members of the Special Forces decide to take their skills and train and lead a group of freedom fighters in hit and run attacks on people involved in gun confiscation, the rounding up of political dissidents or whatever? I have heard that kind of talk go on.

It is good that the current administration is afraid of it’s people. It should be. They work for us and serve at our pleasure and should be acting in our best interests. Be afraid, be very afraid. You trained us, I promise you that you do not want to fight us. Do not push us. You will not like it if we are forced to push back. Nobody wants that but we find what you want for this great country even less desirable and frankly intolerable. We simply want to be left alone to raise our families, shape and determine our own destinies, exercise our rights that are enumerated in the Constitution and not live in fear of our government. We were here before you came into power, we will be here once you have been voted out, or removed. Which ever comes first. But we will not let you destroy this country.
