Now we'll see how good BYU's coaches are.
In terms of keeping the players motivated.
Instead of taking the season one game at a time, it's no secret that BYU has been talking about the BCS since the spring. And now that they have only an astronomical chance at the BCS*, the most that the team has to hope for is a share of the conference championship and a trip to Las Vegas or San Diego. How do you keep the team from being deflated? Look at Cal's performance in the '04 Holiday Bowl after being passed by the BCS. Same with Oregon in '05. Same with Michigan in the '06 Rose Bowl. *IF BYU falls no lower than #20 AND Utah tanks AND Boise State tanks AND TCU tanks AND BYU wins out AND climbs back up to #16 AND an undefeated Ball State doesn't jump them AND an undefeated Tulsa doesn't jump them AND the highest ranked Big East team stays out of the top #16 (presently their leader is #25) ...then yes, BYU *could* get a BCS berth. |

No need to look at all those teams.
Look at BYU when it was passed over....ended the season with lousy losses.

BYU was just flat out beat by a better team, thats the bottom line. I actually think Utah will fare better against TCU because they have more team speed.
