The final two are the same poser wannabes that make it to the final two every year, except this time, one of them is a twee Mormon who lives in Utah. Sometimes you get an overweight person, sometimes you get a woman, but you almost always get a hack who inevitably disappears into oblivion.

He is a cute little dude who has the appeal of a little Michael Jackson or Donny Osmond, except he doesn't do any original material and if put in the Delta Center, would be as entertaining as watching the Mickey Mouse Club.

I thought the show was over. Are they still doing new episodes? Is this more like the survivor series which never ends but nobody watches?

I really thought that American Idol had died.

Unfortunately, it is still around.

Fortunately, ratings are starting to slip, so look for format changes and an eventual shark jumping. Probably still several years away from that, though.

PS The shows I go to cost about $20 or less. $50 is Delta Center money, so no thanks.

Some of the contestants did play instruments this year. I thought that was a major improvement. The guitar and piano were played extensively by a few of the contestants. I do understand your hate though. The music is spoon-fed and not very original but david and david do have talent.

Does Archuleta play an instrument? And no, the tamborine doesnt count.

I dont debate that these guys are singers. What I dont get is why anyone cares? A show where lounge acts sing cover songs every week? What is the appeal there? Is it fun? My wife loves the show and always ask her....what the heck do you see in this program? She never can say...she just says she likes it. She also owns zero CDs by American Idol contestants.

Fantasia: is on broadway right now, she has sold 4 million albums, she is now starring in the Color Purple and I just saw her on MTV cribs (you can take a person out the ghetto but you cant take the ghetto out the person)

Ruben: was ripped off of 2 million dollars by his manager, but his first album did go platinum, He has sold 2.4 million albums in the US which is 5th best of the American Idol contestants.

Justin: He was in an awesome movie called from Justin to Kelly............ok you got me.

Kelly Clarkson- first album 4 million copies, 2nd album 12 million copies, 3rd album was released in December has already gone platinum.

By the way Archuleta played the Piano this year, Brooke White played the Piano and the guitar, one kid played the drums and sang, Cook played his guitar on almost every performance. The pot head Jason Castro played the guitar, ukelele and spoons (ok I made that last one up).

yes, Clarkson and Underwood are too legit to quit.

The other ones....of course their first disc sold a lot. they got a year of free pub. The second disc...not so much. Sounds like Fantasia isnt even making records anymore.

So you would pay to go see an American Idol concert? I know they travel around and do their little roadshow in large arenas. You would go to that?
