I was upset at Foo Fighters for breaking apart Sunny Day Real Estate, whom I loved, but I have since forgiven them. I still prefer Sunny Day and jeremy enigk.

Let's see....stay in Sunny Day or form a band with the drummer of what was the biggest rock band in the world at that moment, even with Kurt dead. I would have gone, too.

Their song is very good. SO good that they wisely keep recording it over and over on their albums.

Nickelback
Man, I could listen to Rockstar over and over and over and over again. In fact it's been playing in my head for the last week, a welcome reprieve from the Richard Marx songs that usually bounce around in there no doubt. ‘Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap We’ll all stay skinny ‘cause we just won’t eat And we’ll hang out in the coolest bars In the VIP with the movie stars Every good gold digger’s Gonna wind up there Every Playboy bunny With her bleach blond hair Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar You tell them Nickelback, you tell them all. |

What was the song the guy on the Sarah Silverman Show was playing on his IPOD when we was acting like was rocking out to metal? That was a good bit.

I could support the Killers as being in the discussion. Both discs are excellent.
Coldplay started out strong with Parachutes, but each album grew progressively worse. This precludes them, in my opinion. For me, Coldplay is a weird band. All 3 of their discs are from great-to-good, but only the first one seems essential enough to own. I would definitely add The Strokes to the list of nominees. Is This It was amazing when it came it and is still an excellent listen. Their discs have also been great. However, it would be nice if both The Strokes and the Killers put out another disc or 2 in the requisite 1o year period to see whether they can maintain the creativity. Jet is definitely guitar driven rock, but is sadly nothing more than an ACDC clone. The Darkness is cool, but how many shows can you watch with a guy in tights, wigs, and sunglasses?
