Default Poison Dart Frogs

Anyone keep them for pets? I have professional aquarium friends keep them. I don't think they are terribly difficult, but probably more difficult than a lot of things.

It's just that my kids love frogs so durn much.

And you have to admit, it is pretty exciting to see a frog just sit there and do nothing.

Is the poison not poisonous except in refined form?

The poison usually comes from the frogs' wild diet, which is not replicated in captivity. Duh.

Is this from the back of the frog or from its saliva?

The skin.

I'm too wise to start this hobby up. But I've gotten my father thinking about it. Since he has a knack with bugs, this would be ideally suited for him.

I need a new interesting hobby. I'm bored.

My Dad was a professional beekeeper....have you given that a try? We used to spend hours together in the bee yard. He loved it and made some decent honey. Of course, the little bastards will sting you if you don't wear a bee suit, but it was too hot for anything more than a bee veil usually. And ignorant neighbors are easily frightened by the thought of bees next door.

This reminds me of a photo I took last week that I've been meaning to post for you here, Mike. I've got to try to remember to do that when I'm back at home.

You should probably send it to me privately. We don't want that circulating in public.
