horses are getting to be really cheap. Banning the slaughterhouses in the USA has had that effect. Plus the bad economic times. Excellent time to get a horse.

Couldn't they just make an offer on the RLDS (or whatever they are called) one. It may take a little remodeling on the inside but it's hard to beat the outside on that thing.

Actually he said "near Kansas City" which means, in other words, Independence, MO.

Thank God it's about time.

I can't believe that they were even able to buy land in Rome, and let alone for a LDS temple. That is really remarkable. I have been to Rome, and the city as a whole is run by the catholic church and the Vatican. There are lots of building rules based on the land mark buildings already present, St. Peters Basilica , etc . . . I am really excited that there will be a temple there, I think that is super cool.

Are there that many Mormons in Rome? Maybe they can get Michelangelo to paint the ceiling of the Celestial Room (provided he has accepted the gospel and been released from the Spirit Correctional Facility).

Rome - Yes.

Paris - No.

My old friends must be in mourning.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.
