Default on lawsuits, frivolous

let's say that, hypothetically speaking, a really awful icestorm rolls into town. And let's say that (again, strictly theoretical here) someone were to slip on the driveway on the way to the mailbox to mail a friend's birthday card, and that he/she hit his/her head REALLY REALLY hard on the pavement.

Whom does one sue in this instance?

God. And assuming you can't serve God with a subpoena, then put a lien on his assets. Meaning the LDS church of course.

I like the sound of that. The Church has lots of prime real estate.

I was thinking of either suing the USPS for no longer providing front-porch service, or perhaps the construction company that poured my driveway for making the pavement so hard.

Sue your parents for not teaching you how to walk properly.

Nah. But I could sue the company that made my stiletto boots for not giving them any traction.

Perhaps. In any case, I'm truly sorry* you hurt yourself.

*This expression of sympathy is not an admission of guilt. Tex denies any connection whatsoever with the events leading to Mrs. Gordon's injury. Apology must be accepted at the injured's own risk.

Your compassion is duly noted, but the above circumstance is, you understand, described strictly for the purpose of a hypothetical exercise.
