If there's a silver lining to this election
it may be that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have become instantly irrelevant. All their blathering about racism will be answered by "America elected an African American President".
You don't get any better "scoreboard" than that. |

This goes a loooooong way toward healing persistent (but shrinking) wounds. My wife was brought to tears tonight, saying she could never have believed as a child that a black man could become president. This whole thing took her back to her childhood in the south... something I've come to appreciate better, but I really can't fully know.
Obama will help pull up the AA community, challenge them... some kick in the butt, healing. Jackson, Sharpton, Wright... all step aside & let the new generation take things from here. |
