Default Remake of Shichinin no Samurai in the works

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0814315/

bankrolled in party by Miramax. I don't know how you can improve on the original however.

sorry, it's not Miramax (which was sold to Disney). It's Weinstein Co.

No kidding. That's crazy. What's next? The Godfather? The Big Lebowski? (shudder)

I could see how it could work.

Color film of course would be nice.

It has to be a different situation. It can't be a scene by scene remake.

if the characters/actors are memorable it could work.

Next thing you know they're gonna re-make Horror classic "Halloween". Not that that movie is even in the league of the others.

Halloween is good for a horror flick.

I saw it when I was 9 years old and it scared the crap out of me.

We had this long hallway downstairs and for a little while at night when walking down the hallway I'd look over my shoulder to make sure Michael Myers wasn't there.

Nothing has stopped them, that's why I provided link in the post above to the trailer. Movie comes out Aug 31.
