Mr Chavez who was quoted in the article must be a fan of some other team in the MWC. He said, "Most mormons here have a way of looking down their noses at you or past you. There are some that are really nice."

I beg to differ Mr Chavez. Most are really nice. The nose up in the air crowd are "true blue BYU fans". They may act like the majority, but they aren't.

In the US, various people were upset that the church let the elders sit in jail for 6 months. They thought the church "hung them out to dry", so to speak. I believe that there were certain diplomatic attempts to get the elders out of jail but they weren't successful.

I love how some Americans think the laws of other countries are of little consequence, as if all Americans travel the world with a "Get out of Jail Free" card.

Let me tell you what you get if arrested in another country:

1 - a visit from someone at the Embassy
2 - a list of local lawyers (brought by the Embassy representative)
3 - an offer to contact family or friends in the U.S. about the situation (again, from the Embassy representative).
