Oliver Stone to the rescue

I'm not one to normally parse the subtleties of CNN articles, but it's hilarious to read that they perceive FARC may be a terrorist organization only because the US government classifies them as such and not as a statement of fact. |

By any reasonable definition, the US government is a terrorist organization. Not that I buy into the left-wing propaganda, but that label is being tossed around so frivolously lately, it really has come to mean "anybody not with us," rather than referring to a group that uses fear to wield influence, which our government obviously does constantly.
I'm reminded of the discussion in the Two Towers extended cut of how motivations and demonizations tend to be so similar on both sides of a conflict. The assumption that we are Good and God is on our side leads to feeling justified in demonizing anyone who opposes us. |

Well, we are good and God is on our side, so to hell with anyone who doesn't want our way of life, ya know?
