Default Anyone read the new Bushman Joseph Smith book...

I just wanted to see if anyone has had the chance to read the book out on Joseph Smith yet. I think it came out just a week or two ago. Any thoughts on the book and how it compared with past Joseph Smith bios?

If anyone's in southern California, Richard Bushman is speaking at a symposium on Joseph Smith in San Clemente on October 22. Robert L. Millett, Joseph Bentley and Jeff O'Driscoll are the other speakers.

Boardmail me if you want details. I received the announcement by email today.

I should have read the email more closely. Bushman and Millett are also speaking at a more academically-oriented conference on October 20 and 21 at Claremont College (also So.Cal.). Bushman is on the 20th and Millett is on the 21st.

Claremont's in east L.A. County.

Default I have the book ...

... along with the McKay book, sitting right here on my desk. I don't know when I will be able to get to them, but I will eventually. They came when I was in Africa, so it was a nice suprise that they were here waiting for me when I got back.

I ordered my copy of Bushman's book a couple days ago. So, I have now made my first official contribution to the cougarguard upkeep fund. I'm sure Waters has big plans for this large amount of money that will be coming his way.
