It was a brilliant pick. Probably a politically motivated one, but brilliant nonetheless.
I don't think ignoring her would've been smart, but this disproportionate focus isn't smart either. They are going way overboard.

The longer the Obama camp focuses on Palin, the more Obama inadvertently forces people to compare himself to her. This truly frees up McCain to appear presidential and above the fray. Biden is such a non-factor it's as if Obama is running by himself.

It's hard to see how the last 3 weeks could have gone better.

Having Obama taking on the VP candidate of the other party was very unpresidential.

I could be wrong about this, but sure, she would have had her moments of fame, but Dem criticism and the piling on by the left press has only fanned the flames. The number of Dems coming out with the "Jesus was a community organizer, Pilate was a governor" line is a real shocker. In what country do these people live?

I bet now they wish they had just responded with "Interesting pick, worthy opponent, let's talk issues." Obama gained great points at first when he defended Palin's pregnant daughter. Since then, it's been all downhill.

When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

The Republicans just need to hide McCain for the next two months and they may win this thing.

Posting it on DailyKos or sending it around in an email is one thing.

I was stunned--truly stunned--to see an elected Democrat representative parrot it on the floor of the House. What a disgrace.

Here's another brilliant bit of Obama-supporter commentary:

Whoopi Goldberg on "The View" asks McCain: "Should I be worried about being a slave, about being returned to slavery because certain things happened in the Constitution that you had to change?"

http://www.breitbart.tv/html/173183.html

You just know Obama's watching this in his hotel room, thinking, "Whoopi, will you just SHUT UP?"

in fairness, most people are already thinking that about Whoopi, independent of what she said today.

Agreed. The line is perfect for message boards or blogs, but turns off 80% of America. And they're too wrapped up in congratulating each other on their wittiness that they will never see it.
