I think you've pretty well covered it. All the rest are not serious contenders for GC.
But Quickstep, Barloworld and Lotto would argue that sprinters are as important, or possibly more important, to sponsors than having a mediocre GC guy. Does anyone really think Moreau, Zubeldia or Mayo were actually going to win the GC, let alone podium? They probably care as much about seeing their name on a jersey crossing the line first as they do about a second or third place podium finish without a stage win. What team was Evans on again??? Thats right, he was on Robby McEwens team. |
